The Outsiders

Pete and Liz are a husband and wife duo who've been singing together since they first met and married in the mid 1980's. A love of song and harmony in diverse genres has always been their passion and they were inspired to sing together after seeing Clive Gregson and Christine Collister (who have worked with Richard Thompson) Loving Clive's acoustic guitar playing and songwriting and Christine's fabulously rich vocal range.

Having moved to Norfolk 4 years ago they have been enjoying the local music scene and have played a number of times in their local area near Diss. Taking the name “The Outsiders”, among other connections, it is a nod to Peter's uncle who worked as a journalist and editor all his life in East Anglia and had a column in the Newmarket Journal for many years called “The Outsider” which was always accompanied by a cartoon of a three-legged horse.

Pete loves the creativity and storytelling of writing songs and has been working on his “difficult second album” since moving to Norfolk, the first was with a rock group in the early 1980's!!!!

The song we have entered into the Milkmaid Songwriting Contest was written in the 1980's as well and was first performed at the Hampstead Folk Club in London.
