Simon Tall

Simon is a tall, English musician and writer who has an enviable collection of admirable hats. He resides in the fair city of Norwich. Since 2016 he has been playing gigs in and around Norwich and Norfolk, including in February 2019 at the Waterfront in Norwich, where he supported Sam Lewis from Nashville. Summer 2019 saw him play ButeFest in Scotland along with the likes of Big Country and Space.

Simon has now released 14 albums of thoughtful and eclectic material which encompasses indie-folk sensibilities mixed with prog, chamber pop and rock. He often writes and records as part of the One Month Album project (google this!).

In 2020 he released two albums; ‘Placenames’ was written and recorded in March 2020 at the height of the Pandemic lockdown and many of the songs reflect the isolation felt by many during this time. The epic song ‘Blubberhouses’ has a critically acclaimed video which can be viewed on the Breadknife Music YouTube channel. ‘Black Paintings’ was released in September 2020 and includes songs influenced by the painter Goya’s famous works.

2022 saw the release of ‘The Premonition Bureau’ and ‘Small Songs about Letting Go in this Big Uncertain Universe’. ‘Birds Aren’t Real’ and ‘Whelm’ were released in 2023.

Simon Tall has been featured and interviewed on BBC Introducing and promotes acoustic showcase gigs under the banner of Breadknife Music including one in February 2024 at the newly opened Norwich branch of Bury’s own Wright’s Cafe . He is always looking to gig. Please get in touch if you wish to book him… All of his music is available for download and streaming on Bandcamp, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and elsewhere.
