Retro Firefly is the music project of Lowestoft-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Samantha Penman. She began writing music in her early teens, frequently finding inspiration in nature and her upbringing along the Suffolk Coast.

Retro Firefly is the music project of Lowestoft-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Samantha Penman. She began writing music in her early teens, frequently finding inspiration in nature and her upbringing along the Suffolk Coast. 

Her music has an indie-folk vibe, taking inspiration from artists such as Twenty One Pilots and Aurora. Retro Firefly has two albums, “Better Days” (released 2020), and “Underwater” (released 2021), and her latest release, Double A-Side "Where Did You Go?/My Life" is available on all major streaming platforms now. 

Alongside writing and recording, Retro Firefly also gigs regularly in East Anglia, playing pubs, theatres and music venues, as well as performing at festivals such as First Light Lowestoft, Norfolk & Norwich Festival and Latitude.
