Mark Watkin Price

Described as a chansonnier, Mark's act is not just ‘singer/songwriter’ but also humourist and entertainer.

His work ranges from satirical to bawdy to sentimental to pastoral, with a strong emphasis on storytelling, making him difficult to categorise.

Mark spent his working life in sales, in training and in teaching. All of these involve storytelling and that is exactly what he does.

Using his guitar as a prop, he tells stories about the usual things like love, money or the lack of either or both, about people and their lives, or of things that crawl at the underbelly of life like death or dog ownership.

At the heart of what he does is the notion that Life is God's little joke. Laugh, dammit!

Songs range in emotion from sheer joy at being alive to the pathos of Gwendoline and her Alzheimer's. But definitely no schmaltz allowed.

Humour is integral to Mark's performance. He engages with his audience and gets a huge kick out of leaving them smiling.

Once described as a 'happy Tom Waits', he wears the cloak of Storyteller with pride.
